Credentials & standing

When property damage uncovers asbestos — a burst pipe behind asbestos insulation, a storm through an asbestos-cement roof, a fire in a pre-1980s building — the repair becomes two projects at once: fixing the damage and handling the hazardous material correctly. Environmental Services of America (ES America) supports asbestos insurance claims across Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama by doing the work to licensed standards and producing the documentation adjusters actually ask for.
To be clear about our role: we are not insurance adjusters and we don't decide what your policy covers. What we do is make sure the asbestos side of your claim is professionally tested, properly abated, and completely documented — so coverage questions are decided on solid records, not guesswork.
Every deliverable below is produced as a standard part of our licensed asbestos work — so your claim file is built while the project happens, not reconstructed afterward.

Our inspectors collect samples of suspect materials and provide laboratory reports identifying what contains asbestos and what doesn't. See our asbestos sampling service for how this works.

A clear, itemized abatement scope tied to the damaged areas — the kind of specificity adjusters can evaluate line by line.

Containment, removal, and required state notifications — performed under our licenses and documented throughout the project.

Asbestos waste must go to an approved facility; the manifest trail proves it did.

Air sampling results confirming the abated area was released at safe levels before rebuild work began.

Photo documentation of conditions before, during, and after — tied to the dates in the written record.
If your loss is urgent — an open roof, standing water, an occupied building — our emergency remediation services team can stabilize and document simultaneously, so speed doesn't cost you the paper trail.
Asbestos most often enters an insurance claim through a covered loss that disturbs older building materials. In each case, the damaged material usually must be tested before repair crews can disturb it, and abated by a licensed contractor if it contains asbestos.

Water damage soaking asbestos pipe insulation, floor tile, or ceiling texture.
Storm and tree damage crushing asbestos-cement roofing or siding.
Fire and smoke damage in buildings with asbestos-containing materials.
Vehicle impact or structural collapse in pre-1980s construction.

That sequence — and the records it generates — is what your claim file needs.
We routinely coordinate with adjusters, restoration contractors, and property managers. Our reports are written to be read by non-specialists: what was found, what the regulations required, what was done, and what it cost. ES America also carries the insurance and bonding that commercial claims often require of remediation vendors — see our insurance page for current coverage documentation.

Homeowners most often need asbestos documentation after water, storm, or fire damage in pre-1980s homes. We test before repair crews disturb suspect materials, abate what the laboratory confirms, and give your adjuster the complete record — sampling results, scope, manifests, and clearance.

We document asbestos work on commercial and multi-family losses to the same standard, including NESHAP notifications and the certificates of insurance commercial carriers require.

Since 2009, ES America has performed asbestos testing, abatement, and environmental remediation across Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. We are EPA/AHERA/ASHARA certified (#20616), state-licensed (GA ASBRN-382008 · SC CO-000859 · AL ASB40262), and insured $1M/$3M. On a claim, those credentials matter twice: they make the work legal, and they make the documentation credible.

It depends on the policy and the cause. Asbestos abatement is more commonly considered when it's required to repair a covered loss (storm, water, fire) than as a stand-alone removal. Your adjuster decides coverage; our job is to give them complete, professional documentation to decide with.
Typically: laboratory sampling results, an itemized abatement scope and cost, proof of contractor licensing, disposal manifests, and clearance air results. ES America produces all of these as standard project deliverables.
Report the loss to your insurer promptly, and don't let anyone disturb suspect materials before testing. Testing early establishes what was damaged and protects both your claim and the people doing the repairs.
We can provide reports, scopes, and supporting records directly to your adjuster or restoration contractor at your request, and answer technical questions about the asbestos work. Coverage decisions remain between you and your insurer.
Yes. We document asbestos work on commercial and multi-family losses to the same standard, including NESHAP notifications and the certificates of insurance commercial carriers require.
